The purpose of SLU’s PhD programme is to offer an education in research that nurtures and promotes the development of independent research skills in candidates.

Search for PhD courses

As part of their PhD, candidates will produce a thesis and take courses that fall under their subject area. These courses help the candidate to develop their knowledge and skills on a particular subject. Furthermore, candidates will develop transferrable skills in areas such as padagogy and leadership. Many PhD students enroll in basic courses to develop and train their general skills.
